We offer a comprehensive return and refund process designed to be straightforward and fully compliant with both French and European consumer protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Consumer Code.

1. Our Return Policy – 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

We offer an extended 30-day return window from the date you receive your order. This period significantly exceeds the legal 14-day "droit de rétractation" (right of withdrawal) provided by French law, giving you ample time and peace of mind to ensure your satisfaction.

To be eligible for a return under our 30-day satisfaction guarantee, your item must be:

  • In its original, unused condition, suitable for resale.
  • Undamaged and free from signs of wear or assembly (for non-defective returns).
  • In its original packaging, with all original accessories, manuals, and components included.

2. Items Not Eligible for Full Refund (Conditions Apply)

While we aim for flexibility, certain conditions apply to returns, especially for items that have been used or assembled. We reserve the right to refuse a full refund or apply a depreciation fee as permitted by French law for items that:

  • Are not in their original, resellable condition due to use, wear, or damage not present upon delivery.
  • Are missing parts or components due to customer error.
  • Were part of a final sale or clearly marked as non-returnable (this will be explicitly stated on the product page at the time of purchase).

Important Note on Assembled/Used Equipment (e.g., Treadmills, Complex Weight Benches): If a large item like a treadmill or a complex weight bench has been fully assembled and/or used, its value for resale is significantly diminished. While the 14-day legal right of withdrawal generally applies to unused items, under French consumer law (specifically Article L. 221-23 of the Consumer Code), the consumer is liable for any depreciation in the value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and proper functioning of the goods.

Therefore, for large gym equipment that has been assembled and/or used:

  • We may apply a depreciation fee (partial refund) to cover the diminished value of the product due to use or assembly beyond what is necessary for initial inspection.
  • The amount of this depreciation will be assessed upon inspection of the returned item and will reflect the cost of restoring the item to a resellable condition or its reduced market value.
  • We strongly recommend carefully inspecting the product upon delivery and before full assembly if you are unsure about keeping it.

3. How to Initiate a Return

To initiate a return, please follow these steps carefully:

  1. Contact Us: Within 30 days of receiving your order, send an email to contact@secquent.com or call us at +33 467135050.
  2. Provide Information: In your message, please include:
    • Your full name and order number.
    • The specific item(s) you wish to return.
    • The reason for your return (e.g., "changed my mind," "incorrect item received," "damaged upon arrival," "defective item").
    • For damaged or defective items: Please attach clear photos or videos demonstrating the issue. This helps us expedite the process.
  3. Return Authorization (RMA): Our customer service team will review your request. If approved, we will provide you with a unique Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and detailed instructions on how and where to send your item(s) back. Please do not send any items back without first receiving an RMA number, as this may lead to delays in processing your refund.

4. Return Shipping

  • For "Change of Mind" Returns (within 30 days, non-defective items): The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping. Due to the weight and size of our gym equipment, return shipping costs can be substantial. We strongly recommend using a trackable and insured shipping service to ensure the safe return of the item, as we cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged in transit back to us.
  • For Damaged or Defective Items: If you receive an item that is damaged upon arrival or found to be defective, Secquent will cover the entire cost of return shipping. We will provide you with a pre-paid shipping label or arrange for a pick-up service, depending on the item and your location.

5. Refunds

Once your return is received at our facility and inspected, we will send you an email notification confirming the receipt of your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund based on the condition of the returned item and our policy.

  • Refund Processing Time: If approved, your refund will be processed promptly. A credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 7-10 business days from the day we receive the returned item. The actual timeframe for the funds to appear in your bank or credit card account may vary depending on your financial institution.
  • Original Shipping Costs: Please note that original shipping costs (if any were paid) are non-refundable unless the return is due to a defect or error on our part. As we offer free shipping on all orders, this point is generally not applicable unless specific expedited shipping was purchased by the customer.

6. Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to exchange an item, the fastest way to ensure you get the product you desire is to initiate a return for your original item (following the steps in Section 3). Once your return is accepted and processed, you can then place a new, separate order for the desired item. This ensures quicker processing and current stock availability.

7. Damaged or Defective Items upon Arrival

If your gym equipment arrives damaged or is defective, please contact us immediately upon receipt (ideally within 24 hours of delivery) with detailed photos or videos of the damage/defect. This allows us to assess the issue quickly and assist you. We will work with you to arrange a replacement, repair, or a full refund at no additional cost to you, including covering any necessary return shipping. This is separate from our general "change of mind" return policy and falls under the legal guarantees against hidden defects and non-conformity as per French consumer law.

8. Product Warranty

All products sold by Secquent are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity (articles L217-4 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) and the legal guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code). These guarantees ensure that your product is fit for its purpose and free from hidden defects that might make it unusable or significantly diminish its use. 9. Right to Lodge a Complaint

As a consumer in France, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority if you believe your consumer rights have not been respected. In France, this authority is the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés) for data protection matters, and other consumer protection bodies for product-related issues.
